We have an immediate opening for a Project Manager with eight or more years of experience in the architecture or engineering field to join one of our offices in Bend or Portland, Oregon.

Our 19-person team offers architecture, interior design, and master planning for K-12 school, public, housing, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Some of those clients include Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon Dept. of Forestry, Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity, the Port of Kalama, public school districts throughout Oregon and Washington, independent schools, and private housing and commercial developers. Our projects range from tenant improvements to multiphase mixed-use developments.

Project Manager Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you’ll act as the primary contact with the client and internal project team throughout project execution. You will ensure that commitments to projects are fulfilled and work quality is consistent with expectations, values, policies, and regulations. You will serve as the primary manager of project schedules, budgets, and overall coordination.

About You

As a Project Manager with SĀJ Architecture, you’ll be expected to:

  • Lead pre-proposal consultation meetings and assess client needs.
  • Participate in business development strategy sessions and prepare proposals and fees.
  • Prepare and manage contracts and contract amendments.
  • Coordinate with client, internal team, and consultants to develop project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage project invoicing.
  • Independently manage and control all aspects of multiple projects, reporting to the Principal-in-Charge.
  • Assist in developing firm processes, implement new processes with employees.
  • Actively participate in mentoring and training team members on an ongoing basis.
  • Uphold project communication plans, and maintain consistent communication between client and project team to facilitate compliance with established project scope, timeline, and budget
  • Assist team with/facilitate design decisions and collaborative problem-solving, ensuring that issues are fully addressed and resolved
  • Maintain accountability and up-to-date knowledge on status of deliverables and tasks within each project
  • Monitor, and address as needed, employee performance on projects in relation to individual and firm standards, and provide ongoing and routine performance feedback to employees and Principal
  • Participate in firm goal setting, development of process improvements, and implementation of firm standards.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field or have equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role at an architecture or engineering firm.
  • Experience using programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Salary and Benefits Range

This position offers a starting salary of $85,000 – $130,000 per year.
