Our 19-person team offers architecture, interior design, and master planning for K-12 school, public, housing, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Some of those clients include Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon Dept. of Forestry, Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity, the Port of Kalama, public school districts throughout Oregon and Washington, independent schools, and private housing and commercial developers. Our projects range from tenant improvements to multiphase mixed-use developments.

Project Architect Role Overview

As a Project Architect, you’ll lead small- to medium-sized projects independently and coordinate portions of large projects as part of a team. You’ll work directly with the Project Manager and be responsible for the technical aspects of a project including selecting, evaluating, and implementing procedures and techniques during design and construction.

About You

As a Project Architect with SĀJ Architecture, you’ll be expected to:

  • Independently develop drawing sets and portions of the design in alignment with project goals.
  • Independently develop small to mid-scale project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate the work of the project design team including interiors, production, and consultants.
  • Lead client and consultant meetings.
  • Produce programming information and design documentation.
  • Present design and project information to clients, review boards, and other necessary stakeholders with supervision from the Project Manager or Principal In Charge.
  • Plan weekly tasks for team members and ensure tasks are completed and project is progressing according to the project plan
  • Possess an advanced understanding of building systems, building and development code requirements, the design process, and document technology.
  • Participate in mentoring and training team members on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform technical peer review of other team’s document sets, as requested.
  • Coordinate and track approvals from relevant authorities of land use and building permit submissions.

As a professional joining our firm you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience supporting architectural projects at all phases.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic presentation skills.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.

  • Licensed Architect, preferably in the state of Oregon or working towards reciprocity.
  • Experience using programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Salary and Benefits Range

This position offers a starting salary of $80,000 – $100,000 per year.
