SETH ANDERSON, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Principal Architect / Owner

Seth is a collaborative, technically focused architect who enjoys firm leadership and managing complex projects. His personal mantra is to “do better” each day for our clients, projects, community, and team.

During his career, Seth has managed and administered projects, facilities, and developments with budgets up to $85 million and exceeding 250,000 square feet. His experience includes multifamily housing, senior living, industrial facilities, breweries and distilleries, mixed-use projects, Federal buildings, laboratories, medical/veterinary clinics, and nonprofit projects. His specialty interests include feasibility studies, land-use planning, code compliance, and energy-efficient design. His clients appreciate his calm demeanor, practical design approach, and ability to identify and remove barriers that might otherwise cancel projects.

Prior to cofounding SĀJ Architecture, Seth owned and grew Ascent Architecture & Interiors, a successful, award-winning firm acquired by Tacoma-based BLRB Architects in 2019. A believer in continually elevating the architecture profession, he also served as president of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Oregon Chapter and as an AIA Practice Management Knowledge Community member. Additionally, he was one of the first architects in the nation to apply the  International Green Construction Code (IgCC) to a project. In 2016 he received the national AIA Young Architects Award.

Seth and his wife, Michelle, moved to Bend in 2004. They live on a small property with their horses and dogs, including Willow, a Corgi who serves as SĀJ Architecture’s unofficial mascot.
